Day 8 Samoa
Today felt like the longest day of
our lives even though we barely did anything! Coach went to figure out why our
crate full of humanitarian supplies was taking forever to get here. He was gone
all day and we all felt really bad for him. Some of us laid out to try to work
on our tan (that was unsuccessful for me especially) and Daniel attempted to
teach some of us how to play rugby. Let’s just say that we should probably
stick to volleyball for the time being. Finally at around 1, we got to go back
to the sliding rock because we were all dying from the heat and humidity. When
we got back to the house, the crate was here! We were all ecstatic and started
clapping! After that we got ready for our match that was scheduled for later
that night. The gym had no walls and was partly outdoors so we were once again
dying from the heat. It was a new experience for sure! The best part of the day
was after the game when we were able to give some of our things to our
opponents. We all left without jerseys, ankle braces, and shoes and it was so
worth it. I met this amazing girl named Emma and she was so grateful that we
were able to give our things to her. She is looking forward to when we get wifi
so that we can add her on facebook. (if you’re reading this Emma, only 6 more
days until we can be “friends”) It may not have been the most action packed day
but it was definitely a rewarding one!
