Day 6
Today we traveled to Rotorua. We got five rides to get our mouths and eyes filled with sand and plenty of bruises to remember the luge. After the luge ride Kat, Dani, and Lacee decided to ride the swing and get some extra adrenaline pumping. We then travelled to Te Puia and got a nice tour of a mock Mauri village. Unfortunately two Australians tagged along with us and decided to mess up our stick game with their nonexistent hand-eye coordination. We also got to see the hot pots which were the origin of the putrid rotten egg smell that Garfield loved. Then we caught a bus ride up into the mountains to a traditional Mauri village where coach was chosen chief of our group. After a pukana filled greeting, he accepted the leaf and we were welcomed into the village. The highlight of the evening was the feast of food cooked underground. Daddy Chels filled her plate with muscle shells and just when I thought she had eaten her fair share, she ate Lindsay's unwanted crab-infested muscles. We then got to watch coach do the haka and pukana face. Our dinner was followed by a nice long ride back to the lodge. Our team entertained everyone else on the bus with our singing, even the reverend bus driver, Tata. Afterwards, we were completely exhausted and slept the whole way home. Meanwhile, me and daddy chels have perfected our pukana face.
Great times in Rotorua!
